spice-line.com is intended to be the base site for a variety of ministries growing out of spice-line, the email loop serving the NC Triangle area and beyond.
Spice-line began as a communication tool for a support group. Instead of a newsletter, and before everyone had email (can you remember that far back?), we used an answering machine with a 20 minute tape. Folks would call on a line dedicated to that answering machine, and listen to information about group events.
Not to much later, we noticed that there was little/no communication amongst support groups in our area. We expanded spice-line to include any support group leader who wanted to leave information about their group's events and hear what other groups were planning. Those answering machine tapes got longer and longer, averaging 30-40 minutes of listening.
When email became available/practical, we moved to Juno....but quickly ourgrew their 50 email recipient limit!
After a few other attempts and much research, we opened up membership to all and settled on Yahoogroups.
Spice-line is fully moderated, so you won't find the escalating arguments and flaming here. Just a safe place to find encouragement, ask questions, help others and enjoy 3000 other homeschool families!
See you there!
(Beware of imitators. There is a spice_line at yahoogroups. Not the same.)
